# Ribat

> Ribat is the calm operating system for hackathons and tech events of 50 to 500 people. Organizers run registration, QR check-in, team formation, project submissions, fair judging and announcements from one web app at https://ribat.site.

Ribat has three spaces. Organizers manage each event from a dashboard. Participants get a portal with their QR ticket, team, project submission, schedule and announcements. Judges get a phone-friendly view that only shows the projects assigned to them. One account can hold different roles at different events. Public event pages and project galleries are open to everyone; everything else requires signing in.

## Features

- Registration: public event page, custom questions (short text, long text, dropdown, checkbox), capacity limits, automatic waitlist, and a signed QR ticket emailed to every attendee
- Check-in: scan tickets from any phone, works offline and syncs when back online, live counts across staff devices, search by name as a fallback
- Teams: create or join with invite codes, open team browser, skill tags and "looking for" roles, size limits enforced
- Submissions: Markdown write-ups with live preview, repository, demo and video links, screenshots and short videos, deadlines enforced on the server
- Judging: weighted criteria, balanced and conflict-free auto-assignment, autosaving scorecards, and a leaderboard that normalises each judge's scores (z-scores) so tough and generous judges count equally
- Announcements: post once to the participant portal, email and Discord, with delivery status per channel
- Schedule: run of show in the event's timezone with what's happening now
- Analytics: registrations over time, check-in rate, submission rate and judging progress
- Email: registration tickets, reminders, announcements, judge invites and results, sent from hello@ribat.site with one-click unsubscribe on event emails
